Managed funds

Diversification with trusted results

A managed fund is an easy way to diversify your portfolio and spread the risk without having to research individual investments yourself.

Features and benefits

Funds are managed by investment professionals who constantly analyse the market and can make decisions on your behalf. Please note, our investment service is only available to clients who have at least £100,000 (or currency equivalent) in savings and investments with Barclays International Banking.

Greater reach

Managed funds give you access to assets that may be hard to invest in on your own, including overseas investments.

Funds hold a variety of assets which helps alleviate major losses should a single asset lose value.

Expert management

Investing with Barclays gives you access to our international investment advisers.

Varying investment goals

If you're looking for income, growth or exposure to a particular region or industry, you can find a fund to match almost any investment goal.

Access to money

You can sell whenever you want  - but you may receive a market value which could be less than you invested. Funds work better as investments if you hold them for at least five years, or longer.

Remember that all investments carry risk. Investments can fall in value and you could get back less than you invested. Investments in currencies other than your own may rise or fall because of changes in exchange rates.

Things to consider

There is an upfront charge to cover advice, service and administration fees. There is also an annual management fee that covers product charges, government levy, taxes and brokerage costs and is taken from the fund.

Investment term
Funds work best as a medium to long-term investment, so whilst you can sell at anytime, you should look to hold them for at least five years.
