How to apply

You can apply online for an American Express® Charge Card.

American Express Charge Cards are available to existing Barclays clients who are residents in the following countries:

Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

Barclays Bank PLC is a credit broker and not a lender with respect to American Express Charge Cards. American Express will pay Barclays Bank PLC a flat-rate commission for each new International Currency Cards Account that is approved and opened in addition to a percentage commission based on Cardmember annual spend.

An alternative Card is available without any rewards, cash access, other features or an annual fee – the Basic Card.
