Choose an account to access your funds after either 35 or 100 days notice.

Minimum balance

The minimum balance to open and to maintain a Notice Deposit Account is £500,000 or $500,000. The maximum balance is £25m or $40m.

Choose a currency and location

Choose to open your account in sterling or US dollars and the jurisdiction that best suits your needs.

Interest paid monthly

Interest will be paid monthly. Depending on where you are you can have the interest paid into your Funding, Notice Deposit or an alternative account.

Funds withdrawals

Withdrawals are subject to the notice period of 35 or 100 days. The notice period starts as soon as you send us your instruction, if you do so before 12 pm UK time. During the notice period, a lower rate of interest will apply to the amount being withdrawn.

Eligibility

  • Only available to Barclays International Banking clients
  • Only available to individuals
  • Minimum deposit £500,000 or $500,000
  • Clients must already hold a Funding Account - both the Funding and the Notice Deposit Account must be held in the same currency and sort code.

Can Barclays change the interest rate?

Yes, rates are variable. We can increase or decrease the interest rates as set out in ‘Barclays Bank Terms’. Can I withdraw money?

35 day Notice Deposit Account - This is a notice product that requires you to give 35 days notice of your intention to withdraw funds. 35 days after you have given notice the funds will be credited to your Funding Account.

100 day Notice Deposit Account - This is a notice product that requires you to give 100 days notice of your intention to withdraw funds. 100 days after you have given notice the funds will be credited to your Funding Account.

Partial withdrawals can be made on both notice accounts by providing the required notice. Must be a minimum withdrawal amount of £50k or $50k. The account balance must remain above minimum requirements (£500,000 or $500,000). If you give notice of a withdrawal, the post-notice interest rate will apply to the value of funds on notice to be withdrawn during the notice period. Any remaining balance will continue to receive the pre-notice interest rate.

To open and manage a Notice Deposit Account you need to get in touch with your relationship manager.

Please note

You can have more than one deposit account at any given time in sole or joint names provided the total balances do not exceeed £25m or $40m.
